Newton, MA - September 26, 2007 - The Cunniff Group Cares Charitable Foundation held their 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Butternut Golf Club in Stow, MA. Forty-four participants teed off at 8:30am and eighteen holes later the foursomes gathered at the clubhouse for a buffet barbecue lunch, awards, silent auction and raffle.

The tournament raised over $12,000 - remarkable for a first time event. Participants who golfed at Butternut Farm agreed the tournament was a high quality event and a lot of fun, with great food and a generous assortment of prizes. Laura Bockway, winner of the women's Closest to the Pin Award, mentioned she appreciated the quality of the prizes: "The raffle prizes and awards were very generous for a tournament like this."

Co-founder, Marie Cunniff expressed her appreciation for the generosity of both the participants and sponsors. "This event exceeded our expectations for a first year charity golf event," Marie said. "It's always so gratifying when you ask for donations from small business owners and they give so much. It's just incredible."

John Banister, from Poli Mortgage and winner of the raffled off Celtic floor seats, said, "It was a great day, very well organized, and a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to next year already."
