Newton, MA - February 2, 2008 - The Cunniff Group Cares lends a helping hand to the local community by hosting "A Taste of Italy", one of the 18 dinners addressing the Newton Schools Foundation's theme, "The World at Our Fingertips: A Global Dining Adventure to Support Public Schools". A variety of dinners was offered by restaurants and community hosts across Newton 's 13 villages. Each venue offered a distinct global theme supported by international cuisine and stimulating conversation: a unique opportunity to spend an evening with friends and neighbors while supporting public education.
"A Taste of Italy" was held at a Georgian Colonial reminiscent of a Newport mansion at the top of Heartbreak Hill in Newton . Members of the local community were invited to take part in this culinary cultural experience put on by The Cunniff Group Cares. Guest speaker Jennifer Barsamian, an Italian teacher at Day Middle School in Newton , spoke of the importance of teaching foreign language in the school system.
